Locally owned and located in the heart of Birkdale Village since 2005, eeZ has long been heralded as the spot for the freshest, most creative sushi and the very first Omakase experience in the Lake Norman area. eeZ is the perfect spot for a date night out, a family outing or a meal with friends as it truly has something for everyone.
Fresh rolls, sashimi creations and our Omakase menu from our Master Sushi Chef, Rifali Almunir, and our Head Sushi Chef, Son Nyugen, feature fresh fish brought in daily and cut by hand. Additionally, we strive to source Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certified seafood wherever possible in order to serve our guests the cleanest, most sustainably harvested seafood available.
For non-sushi lovers, our build-your-own stir fry option allows all to design their own dishes from protein to starch to sauce. Want to try a bit of everything? Our customizable bento boxes for both adults and kids are always a great idea! Our staff is well trained on allergies and happy to help you find a dish you can eat safely – just let us know!

Edamame – Soy beans in shell, choice of Kosher salt, Sriracha salt or smoked salt upon request.
Crab Rangoon Dip – Creamy crab rangoon, parmesan panko crust, wanton crisps, Thai sweet chili sauce and chives.
eeZ Lettuce Wraps – Zucchini, yellow squash, water chestnuts, chicken or tofu, sweet brown sauce. Served with bibb lettuce, pounded ginger sauce and hot chili mustard.
Blackened Tuna Nachos – Five wonton chips, Crab Rangoon Dip, avocado salsa, tomatoes, blackened yellowfin tuna & microgreens.
Mark’s Roll – Fresh tuna, jalapeño, cream cheese, kani and scallions inside, coated with panko, flash fried, topped with Japanese mayo and siracha. Ponzu dipping sauce
The Boss – Premium tuna, kani salad and English cucumber, tempura flakes, avocado, premium tuna, wasabi tobiko and wasabi mayo.
Firecracker Roll– Shrimp tempura and kani, coated with tempura flakes, topped with yellowtail, salmon, spicy mayo, masago, chili powder, tobiko and scallions. Ponzu dipping sauce.
Spicy Tuna Roll – Fresh tuna, cucumber and spicy mayo.
California Roll – Kani, cucumber, avocado and masago.
Tempura Roll – Shrimp tempura, kani, cucumber, masago and spicy mayo.
Soy Vegan Roll – Mixed greens, mango and cucumber. Served with pounded ginger sauce.
Hi-5 Medley Roll – Fresh tuna, eel, salmon, kani, yellowtail, spicy mayo and tempura flakes.
Mongolian Beef – Slices of marinated beef, water chesnuts, snow peas, yellow onions, baby corn, bok choy, red & green bell peppers, hoisin sauce, ground chilis, toasted sesame seeds. Served with jasmine rice.
Kung Pao – Choice of protein, red bell peppers, bok choy, yellow onions, snow peas, baby corn, chopped peanuts, house made hoisin sauce and ground chilis. Served with jasmine rice.
Pad Thai – Choice of protein, Banh Pho rice noodles, bean sprouts, egg, green onion, pickled radish, chopped peanuts, chilis, cilantro, lime and tamarind sauce.
Turtle Cheesecake – A creamy chocolate cheesecake in a graham cracker crust topped with rich caramel and pecans.
Chocolate Cake – Layers of moist, dark chocolate cake and rich chocolate mousse. Frosted with chocolate buttercream frosting.
Rifali Almunir began his career and made his first sushi over 25 years ago as a teenager in his hometown of Jakarta, Indonesia. After five years as an apprentice under Master Sihimato, regarded as one of Indonesia’s finest chefs, Rifali served as Lead Chef at the Grand Hyatt Jakarta, the largest international hotel in Indonesia’s capital. Nine years later he moved to the United States and has served as Master Sushi Chef at eeZ since 2011. He specializes in creative raw and cooked fusion combinations, and only adheres to the strict standards regarding product freshness, quality and presentation.
Born in Vietnam and raised in North Carolina, Son Nguyen has been an integral part of the eeZ team since 2007. Trained under our Master Sushi Chef Rifali Almunir, Chef Son has long been known as our resident fish whisperer due to his dedication to sourcing and utilizing only the freshest seafood available in the beautiful rolls and dishes he creates. One of his personal creations, The Tropical Storm Roll, has been a fan favorite since inception!
